Kings Hill - Troedyrhiw
This section of path benefits from being a site of natural beauty in
mature woodland with many species of plant life. The entire trail is now
used on a regular basis and appreciated by the local community.
The original stone sleeper blocks found nearby being incorporated into
the new path and laid to the same gauge as the tramway. The indentation of
the rails and the holes for the pegs are still visible.
Unfortunately, the Penydarren locomotive was not used many times as its
weight kept breaking the iron rails so in the end the iron masters reverted
back to using horses to pull the trams along the tramroad.
