Stone Sleeper Path

Rails sat on two lines of stones, allowing horses to walk between the rails as they pulled the wagons. Photographs 1, 2 and 3 are looking south along the Merthyr tramroad towards the Pontygwaith overbridge. This is a place of peace and calm away from the rush of daily life. The tramroad was a single track with a number of passing places. Here you will find one of those passing loops.
